Children and Youth
Nursery
Professional, loving care is available for infants and toddlers during the 8:00 and 10:30 am Sunday morning worship services, Sunday morning classes, and during the Wednesday evening worship service and classes. The nursery is located in the Parents Day Out suite of the Church, with an entrance on Lemaster Avenue.
Little Lambs
The fall session for Little Lambs begins September 16. The curriculum teaches simple stories of Jesus with small craft projects designed for two-to-young-three year olds. Please join them in the Nursery.
Catechesis I and II
September 16 is the start of the fall session of Atrium I and II: Catechesis of the Good Shepherd. Atrium I is designed for three-to-six year olds with Atrium II created for older six-to-nine year olds. Grounded in scripture and liturgy, the curriculum allows children to hear the Gospel through the use of sensory rich materials. Class time takes place in the ‘atrium,’ a room transformed into a place of prayer and celebration where children can be with and enjoy God. Atrium I is located in room 125 (in the Nursery) and Atrium II can be found in the Jackson Library on the first floor.
3rd and 4th Grade
On September 16, the fall session of “All Things New” begins. This curriculum incorporates Episcopal liturgy and tradition with music, art, skits and games. Each class activity focuses on a favorite Bible story utilizing both Old and New Testaments.
Feel free to join them in the Scout Room (1st floor).
5th and 6th grade
The fall session begins September 16 under the direction of John Huber and Libba Allen. Each week the class studies the liturgical Gospel reading through an open dialog, art interpretation, skits and games. Please join them in room 212.
7th - 9th grade
Once again, Donna and Jerry Sanders will be leading the class with a wide variety of activities. In years past this includes ‘Strange Sunday’ with egg rolls and fortune cookies for breakfast, special movie events, and cooking for the More than a Meal dinner. On select Sundays, the 7th through 9th grade class will meet with the 10th through 12th grade class. Please join them in the EYC House on LeMaster Street.
10th-12th grade
Hilary Dow-Ward will be leading this section using a wide variety of innovative activities incorporating music, singing and of course laughter. They will be studying both the Old and New Testaments as well as other literature. All 10th through 12th grade students are welcome. Please join them in the EYC House on LeMaster Street.
